Saint Seiya Campus Sanctuary

Episode 2 conclusion.

Note on Miho Hatori. Hatori isn't Miho's last name of course. It's just that for reasons of this series, I add her a last name. As of today, Kurumada never gave none of its Saint Seiya characters a last name (other than Saori Kido). Oh yeah. None of the Bronze Saints will not have a last name. The only exception goes for (some) teachers. Lastly, the name Miho Hatori is based on a real life person.



[April 19xx]

[School is done for the day so all the students leave the building.]

Seiya - [to self] Damn stupid homework...

[Miho notices Seiya from afar and approaches him and his friends after finishing her conversation with another student.]

Miho - Wow! It's Seiya! Oh my goodness!

[Seiya turns back and recognizes Miho.]

Seiya - Miho?

Miho - Hi, everybody! Hi, Seiya!

[The others salute at Miho.]

Miho - [surprised] Seiya, what brings you to this school?

[Noticing that this will be a long talk, the other four Bronze Saints decide to walk ahead home.]

Shun - Well, Seiya. See you tomorrow.

Hyoga - Bye, Seiya.

Shiryu - Bye, Seiya. Take care.

Ikki - See you later.

Seiya - [waves] Okay. Goodbye.

Miho - Oh my! Oh my! [shakes hands excessively in happiness] You gotta tell me everything!

Seiya - [to self] This is going to be a long afternoon...

[Seiya and Miho share a ice cream cone at a local ice cream vendor and they walk to the nearest park to make their conversation.]

Miho - Since when you arrived at the school?

Seiya - Yesterday.

Miho - Really? I was absent yesterday because I was needed at the orphanage.

Seiya - Speaking of that, who's taking care of the orphanage?

Miho - Well there's the priest. And there are other employees as well. But one of them got a family emergency so I had to work.

Seiya - I never noticed you the whole day...

Miho - Probably because I was busy talking to other students. And also because I sit at the front. So what class you're in?

Seiya - First year class C.

Miho - So am I. Just you only?

Seiya - No. Shun's with me. Hyoga and Shiryu are in class A and Ikki's in class B. By the way, what made you come to this school?

Miho - Oh the priest wanted me to get some real world education. So he allows me to be at the school for one year.

Seiya - Just one year?

Miho - Yeah. Because I can't remain outside of the orphanage for too long. The priest talked to the principal and Miss Kido and they approved it.

Seiya - [to self] Damn it!

Miho - So tell me, Seiya. How does it feel to finally live a normal life free of fighting?

Seiya - Awful.

Miho - Oh come on... I remember the day when you told me you would go to Greece and never come back. But now you're back! Now you gotta promise no more fighting.

Seiya - Sorry, Miho. But I can't make such promise. Fighting is in my blood. My friends and I agree that we'll stay for a year and drop out. Because first off, we can't leave Athena (Saori) unprotected for too long. Second, I still have to look for my sister. The last thing we want is to have some people tell us what to do and give us very silly homework. Besides, what we learn at school will not be useful in the real world. The education we got is enough.

Miho - How do you know you're going to fight again? It's not like some enemy is going to jump from some bushes and attack you. It could take a while before you fight again. Or probably not. Maybe all the fighting is over. Isn't what Miss Kido wants?

[Seiya and Miho give each other uncomfortable stares. They remain like this for a bit. Then Miho hesitantly changes the subject.]

Miho - Um, Seiya, do you want to visit the orphanage? The kids will be so happy to see you.

Seiya - Of course! It's been a while.

Miho - And since we're in the same class, we can do the homework together.

Seiya - [nods] Hm not a bad idea.

[Seiya and Miho walk towards the orphanage where they grew up. The kids are overjoyed to see Seiya. They play for a while and then Seiya and Miho did the homework together. Seiya returns to his yacht house.]

Sorry for the delay of new Campus Sanctuary episodes. I was busy with my college finals. Now that's over, I'll start with the second episode that introduces us Miho Hatori and the other five Bronze Saints. Make this your Christmas present from me to you. Enjoy this episode and happy holidays.

[Next day at Athena Sanctuary school during recess. Seiya and friends eat at the school cafeteria.]

Seiya - [sighs] It's another day at school, huh?

Shun - Come on, Seiya. We already agree to stay for a year.

Seiya - Yeah, yeah...

Hyoga - Hey, Seiya. Isn't that Jabu?

Shiryu - It's not just him but the other four are here too.

[Jabu and his friends notices Seiya and company and approaches them.]

Jabu - Whoa! Isn't that Seiya and gang? What are you guys doing here?

Seiya - The same I ask you.

Jabu - We were tired of staying at the mansion all day. So when this school was built a year ago, Saori asked us for a test drive and we said "sure."

Shiryu - Wait a minute. You've been here before?

Nachi - Yeah this school was built a year ago. Or you guys didn't knew?

Ichi - What would these guys know? They were traveling the world doing who-knows-what.

Seiya - For your information, we were fighting. Second, we never knew about this school's existence. We were just dumped here for no real reason. And yes we knew this school was built a year ago because we got orientation from the principal.

Jabu - Ha! As expected, if Saori asked you guys to attend this school, you'll never come.

Hyoga - [quietly] ...of course not.

Jabu - So how are you guys adjusting to everyday life? Is it too hard for you? We've been adjusting to everyday lives since we got our cloths. Daily life is super easy.

Ban - And as result, we're in our second year of this middle school.

Nachi - Only one more year and boom we're out.

Geki - And it's to high school we go.

Ichi - How does it feel to wear uniforms everyday? We got so used wearing ours that they're second nature to us.

[Seiya grumbles]

Hyoga - You guys can go anywhere you want but we have only one year and then we drop out for good.

Jabu - Whatever. Smell you guys later.

[Jabu and his friends leave as recess ends. The bell rings.]

Seiya - I can't believe we'll be seeing these guys during the school year...

Shiryu - Just ignore them, Seiya.

[Students leave the cafeteria to return to their classrooms.]

Namowrimo Winner

That's right! I won this year's Nanowrimo for the first time in my life. I'm so happy. I reached the goal of 50,000 words just now. The reason I haven't been posting daily updates is because of work and school as well as to focus on my novel. It's mostly a mess but I got the work done. I did said once I got the work done in two weeks. I finally completed the sequel to my Turnabout Slayers fanfic. The ending is shocking. I'll post the sequel later on Fanfiction.net. I'm so happy I'm done.

Feedback - Campus Sanctuary

So how do you like Saint Seiya Campus Sanctuary so far?

I know it's a bit too early but I need to know before I can proceed. I made the first episode in 4-koma form (4-panel comics in Japanese) to make it short and easy to absorb. If you seen Lucky Star or Azumanga Daioh, you get what I'm talking about. As you seen in episode 1, there were references to previous sagas. This is very important since Campus Sanctuary will be filled with references from both anime AND manga (although Campus Sanctuary will follow mostly the anime.) It's important to know the series before reading it because you'll be so lost if you're not. And I'm NOT going to include reference points so it's your job to know where these references come from. If you're watching Saint Seiya for the first time, start with the 114 episode anime series and the original 28 volume manga. Campus Sanctuary will also contain references to other anime and manga (before the 1990s) as well as 1980's pop culture. Campus Sanctuary will also refer to Kurumada's previous works (Ring no Kakero and Fuma no Kojiro specifically.) This fanfiction series takes place in the late 1980s so makes sense to refer to these events. There will be references to Japanese culture and school life as well. I might include illustrations in future episodes to "color up" the series. Starting the second episode and on wards, Campus Sanctuary will become spoiler heavy; that's why I hide it under the cut link. I hope you enjoy Campus Sanctuary as much as I do because I'm so looking forward to continue the series.

This series is also for those who like shows like Family Guy and Simpsons which includes parodies references to pop culture and to themselves.

[April 19xx]

[Bells ring. It's 5pm afternoon and classes end for the day. All the students march outside the school. The Bronze Saints exit also and as they exit, Saori appears.]

Saori - Good afternoon. I hope you enjoyed your first day of class. If that's the case, I will have the paperwork that enable you to stay a whole year.

[The Bronze Saints look at themselves in doubt. They want to stay but they also want to drop out. Now they must decide if they stay or they leave the campus for good.]

Saori - If you don't want to stay, then I simply must rearrange the paperwork. However, I want you to live the lives you deserve after fighting so many battles. But I cannot force you to attend this institution. If you don't feel like attending, then...

Shun - I stay.

Seiya - What, Shun?

Shiryu - I stay also.

Hyoga - I know I don't want to be here but I stay also for other reasons.

Ikki - I stay too.

Saori - So, Seiya. Will you stay?

Seiya - No I can't! I have to see my sister.

Hyoga - Relax. You have all the time in the world.

Seiya - She's in the sanctuary.

Saori - Seiya, the sanctuary isn't going to disappear. Besides, she's in good hands. Just have patience and faith and she'll come and visit you.

Seiya - [Sighs] Alright I'll stay as long as she makes every effort to come.

Saori - Then it's settled. Let's go home. Tomorrow you have another day.

[Saori and the Bronze Saints enter the limo that will send them back to the mansion.]
